Man caught with mamba drug in South Derbyshire

A man caught with the so-called ‘zombie drug’ mamba has appeared in court.

Steven Eyley, 47, of Stanley Close, Woodville, appeared at Southern Derbyshire Magistrates’ Court to answer the drug charge.

He admitted possession of mamba, a class B drug, in The Cutting, Hartshorne, on May 24.

He has been fined £80 and ordered to pay £85 court costs and a £30.

Mamba is an artificial cannabinoid which can cause serious side effects, including mental health problems, psychosis and sometimes a deep zombie-like state among users.

Other people in court for drugs offences:

Mark Chapman , 41, of Plummer Road, Newhall , admitted possession of three fentanyl patches, a Class A drug, in Newhall on October 30.

He has been fined £120 and ordered to pay £85 court costs and a £30 victim surcharge.

Gary Edwards , 37, of Sandicliffe Road, Midway, admitted possession of 0.62 grams of synthetic cannabinoid MMB-fubinaca, a class B drug, in Hartshorne, on July 23.

He also admitted breaching a conditional discharge.

He has been fined £80 and ordered to pay £85 court costs and a £30 victim surcharge.
