A 34-year-old Orange Park man was found guilty Wednesday of selling fentanyl that killed 18–year–old Ariell Jade Brundige on Nov. 10, 2016, according to the State Attorney’s Office

A federal jury found Trumaine “Lucky” Muller guilty of one count of distributing the fentanyl that resulted in death, as well as distribution of heroin and fentanyl, possession with intent to distribute cocaine and fentanyl and possession of a firearm by a felon, the State Attorney’s Office said. Muller faces a up to life in prison when sentenced.

Brundige was a Florida State College at Jacksonville freshman who joined Tyler Hamilton and Christopher Williams in buying what they thought was heroin from Muller at an Orange Park apartment, according to the Sheriff’s Office. The $40 in drugs was actually fentanyl, and Brundige died early the next morning.

Muller was initially arrested on a first–degree murder charge announced in late May 2017 by Clay County Sheriff Darryl Daniels. In May state prosecutors dropped Muller’s murder case, plus three other drug cases filed against him, and it was sent to federal court.

Williams, 33, and Hamilton, 28, previously pleaded guilty to manslaughter in state court for their roles in not getting help for Brundige sooner, the State Attorney’s Office said.
