10 Dec High on fentanyl? Priest tells why 3 bishops couldn’t be part of ‘Oust Duterte’ plot
A priest has taken up the cudgels for his brothers in cloth after presidential son Paolo “Pulong” Duterte tagged some of them as part of an alleged plot to oust President Rodrigo Duterte.
Father David Reyes, the parish priest of St. Joseph the Patriarch Parish City of San Pedro, Laguna, said the younger Duterte “must be high on fentanyl (mukhang high din sa fentanyl)” for accusing three bishops of trying to oust his father because they’re simply not in the position to do so.
He said Leo Drona, the Bishop Emeritus of San Pablo, is already retired and weak.
“Naka-wheel chair na [siya] at malabo na ang isang mata, hindi na nakakakita ng maayos yung isa,” Reyes said of Drona.
The priest said Infanta Bishop Julio Labayen already died before Pulong’s father became President.
Reyes said he also d oes not know anyone named Bishop Arturo Santos in the Philippine Catholic Church.
“Ewan ko lang kung obispo ito ng kulto,” he said.
Pulong on Friday (December 7) posted on Facebook screenshots of an Excel file that showed an “Anti Administration Group” plotting an “Oust Duterte Movement.”
Aside from prelates, named in the file were opposition personalities such as Vice President Leni Robredo, civil society groups like the Makabayan Bloc and Tindig Pilipinas, the Catholic Bishops Conference of the Philippines and Opus Dei.
