NORTH BAY – Three people are facing charges after the North Bay Police Street Crime Unit executed a search warrant and seized an estimated $17,800 in cocaine and fentanyl from a residence in the 800 block of Algonquin Avenue.

It is alleged that the investigation involved information regarding the possession of cocaine which led police to secure a search warrant.

Police say that 60 grams of cocaine and 17 grams of purple fentanyl, as well as $315 were seized from the residence.

The warrant was executed on Saturday, April 13 where police say Nassir Nassir, 23, of North Bay and Brittany Epple, 30, of North Bay were found in the residence. The third individual, Stephen Bird, 55, of North Bay was arrested on April 15.

Both Epple and Bird face charges for cocaine possession for the purpose of trafficking, and possession of proceeds obtained by crime.

Nassir faces the same charges, as well as a charge for possession of fentanyl for the purpose of trafficking.

Epple has been released from custody and will appear in the North Bay Courthouse on April 23 to answer to the charges.

Bird has been released from custody and will appear in the North Bay Courthouse on May 28 to answer to the charges.

Nassir remains in custody pending a bail hearing.

North Bay Police Chief Shawn Devine advises that “Fentanyl is in North Bay and the surrounding area and is becoming all too common.” If you have information that may assist police with investigations involving this potentially lethal drug you can call the North Bay Police Service at 705-497-5555 and select option 9 to speak to a police officer.
