2 caught with fentanyl, heroin, LSD after Fayetteville PD get anonymous tip

FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. (WNCN) — A man and woman are under arrest and facing multiple charges thanks to an anonymous Crimestoppers tip, according to Fayetteville police.

Police went to a home in the 5000-block of Rodwell Road on Tuesday in order to investigate an anonymous tip regarding criminal activity at a home.

During the investigation, officers were able to confirm the information received in the tip and obtain a search warrant for the home, police said.

While executing the search warrant, officers seized 5,188 dosage units of LSD, 8.9 grams of heroin, 2.6 grams of fentanyl, 12 grams of MDMA, $1,185 cash, and “numerous items consistent with narcotic manufacturing and trafficking,” according to police.

Anthony Maerten, 31, of Fayetteville, is charged with trafficking LSD by possession, trafficking LSD by manufacturing, conspiracy to traffic LSD, trafficking heroin by possession, trafficking heroin by manufacturing, possession with intent to manufacture, sell, and deliver a Schedule I controlled substance, possession with intent to manufacture, sell, and deliver a Schedule II controlled substance, felony maintaining a dwelling, and felony maintaining a vehicle for narcotic use.

Cindy Caballero, 20, of Fayetteville, is charged with trafficking LSD by possession, trafficking LSD by manufacturing, conspiracy to traffic LSD, trafficking heroin by possession, trafficking heroin by manufacturing, possession with intent to manufacture, sell, and deliver a Schedule I controlled substance, possession with intent to manufacture, sell, and deliver a Schedule II controlled substance, and felony maintaining a dwelling for narcotic use.

Both suspects are being held in the Cumberland County Detention Center under $530,000 secured bonds each.

The anonymous tipster will be eligible for a cash reward from the Fayetteville / Cumberland County Crimestoppers Program for the anonymous information they submitted that resulted in the outcome of this investigation, police said.
