CHESTERTOWN — A handful of Chestertown area residents are being held in the Kent County Detention Center without bail pending their preliminary hearings in June on drug-related offenses.

The Kent County Narcotics Task Force made the arrests earlier this month after seizing suspected heroin, fentanyl and cocaine from a residence in the 100-block of North Lynchburg Street.

Sherri Lynn Thomason, 38, and Charles Wayne Blake, 44, were charged May 22 with possession of a heroin/fentanyl mix with intent to distribute; possession of a narcotic with intent to distribute; possession of a controlled dangerous substance that is not marijuana; possession of drug paraphernalia; maintaining a common nuisance due to suspected drug-related activity; and possession of a controlled dangerous substance with intent to distribute in a school zone.

Their residence in the 100-block of North Lynchburg Street is located near an elementary school.

Thomason and Charles Blake were charged as part of an investigation that included execution of a search and seizure warrant at their residence May 16. Police seized felony amounts of suspected heroin, fentanyl and cocaine, according to a task force news release.

Arrested at the time were Daiquan Jamal Blake, 25, who gave an address of Woods Edge Drive; Trehquan Jamel Blake, 25, who gave an address of Caulks Field Road; and Lacira Chamar Wilson, 33, who gave an address of Church Hill Road.

Daiquan Blake was charged with two counts each of possession of a controlled dangerous substance that is not marijuana and possession of a narcotic with intent to distribute. He also was charged with possession of a controlled dangerous substance with intent to distribute in a school zone and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Trehquan Blake and Wilson both were charged with possession of a heroin/fentanyl mix with intent to distribute; two counts of possession of a narcotic with intent to distribute; and three counts each of possession of a controlled dangerous substance with intent to distribute in a school zone; possession of a controlled dangerous substance that is not marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Preliminary hearings for all of the suspects have been set for June 12 in the District Court for Kent County. At that time a judge will determine if there is probable cause to believe they committed the offenses.

Investigators with the Kent County Narcotics Task Force executed the search and seizure warrant with the assistance of the Kent County Sheriff’s Office criminal investigations division, the Maryland Department of Natural Resources Police and uniformed troopers from the Maryland State Police barrack in Centreville.
