5 Charged In Heroin-Fentanyl Busts In Toms River, Lakewood: OCPO

TOMS RIVER, NJ — Four people have been and a fifth is still being sought following a three-month investigation into heroin and fentanyl distribution in Ocean County, Prosecutor Bradley D. Billhimer announced.

Arrested were Xavier Nelson, 29, of Toms River; Pilar Rosario, 23, of Lakewood, Shanice Reason, 26, of Toms River; and Domonique Swain, 22, of Toms River. Asianna Marlow, 19, of Lakewood, is still being sought, Billhimer said.

The investigation identified three residences — two in Lakewood and one in Toms River — that were being used by Nelson and others to store and distribute heroin, fentanyl and cocaine, he said.

Search warrants were executed about 5:30 a.m. on Wednesday at the three residences along with ones for two cars — a black 2008 Chrysler Sebring and a 2008 Ford Edge — and detectives seized undisclosed amounts of heroin, fentanyl, cocaine and marijuana. Police also seized drug paraphernalia used for packaging and distributing the drugs, he said.

Nelson was charged with two counts of possession of heroin/fentanyl, one count of possession of heroin/fentanyl over one-half ounce, one count of distribution of heroin/fentanyl over one-half ounce, two counts of possession of cocaine, two counts of possession of cocaine under one-half ounce with the intent to distribute, one count of distribution of cocaine and possession of marijuana. He is being held at the Ocean County Jail, Toms River, pending a detention hearing.

Rosario was charged with possession of heroin/fentanyl, possession of heroin/fentanyl under one-half ounce with the intent to distribute, distribution of heroin/fentanyl under one-half ounce and possession of marijuana. Pilar was released from the Ocean County Jail pending a future court date.

Reason, who lives at the Toms River apartment with Nelson, charged with possession of heroin, possession of cocaine, possession of heroin/fentanyl under one-half ounce with intent to distribute, possession of cocaine under one-half ounce with the intent to distribute and possession of marijuana. She was released pending a future court date.

Swain was charged with possession of marijuana and released pending a future court date.

Marlow has been charged with conspiracy to possess with the intent to distribute under one-half ounce of heroin/fentanyl. Anyone with information on the whereabouts of Marlow are asked to contact the Special Operations Group at 732-341-6150.

The Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office Narcotics Strike Force, High-Tech Crimes Unit, and Financial Crimes Unit; the Toms River Police Department’s Street Crimes Unit and Emergency Services Unit; the Lakewood Township Police Street Crime Unit and Special Response Team; along with the Ocean County Sheriff’s Department K-9 Unit and the Ocean County Regional SWAT Team collaborated in the investigation and arrests, the prosecutor’s office said.
