7 arrested after alleged Quincy drug deal – News – The Patriot Ledger, Quincy, MA

QUINCY — Seven people were arrested in Quincy Tuesday after police said they were involved in a drug deal.

Members of the South Shore Drug Task Force including Quincy detectives were conducting surveillance on Southern Artery just after 3 p.m. when they saw what they believed to be a drug deal in the Stop & Shop parking lot between a pickup truck and sedan.

Police pulled over both cars after they left the parking lot.

In the pickup truck and on the two men inside, police said they found cocaine, fentanyl  and Suboxone strips. Both were arrested.

Terry Bowman, 41, of Quincy, and Robert Hill, 42, of Weymouth were charged with distribution of fentanyl and Suboxone, possession with intent to distribute fentanyl and cocaine and conspiracy to violate drug laws. Bowman, who was driving, was also charged with driving on a suspended license.

In the sedan police said they found cocaine, fentanyl, numerous bags of methamphetamine in a lock box and 25 Suboxone strips. All five people in the car were arrested.

James Barnhill, 42, and Samantha Raphael, 26, both of Quincy, were charged with possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine, three counts of possession for cocaine, fentanyl and Suboxone and conspiracy to violate drug laws. Three other people in the car were charged with four counts of possession for each of the drugs in the car and conspiracy to violate drug laws.

Suboxone is a brand name of the drug buprenorphine which is used to treat opioid addiction, but can also be used illicitly.

All seven are expected to be arraigned in Quincy District Court Wednesday.
