7 Arrested In Quincy Drug Bust: Police

QUINCY, MA — A drug deal was thwarted Tuesday in the Stop & Shop parking lot, leading to the arrest of seven people and the seizure of cocaine, heroin or fentanyl, and Suboxone strips, according to police. Around 3:10 p.m., police were on patrol near the Stop & Shop at Southern Artery and said they witnessed a drug deal between people in a pickup truck and a Ford Fusion.

Police followed the Ford Fusion before confronting the occupants while they were stuck in traffic at the intersection of Southern Artery and Furnace Brook Parkway. Officers searched the vehicle and said they found cocaine, heroin/fentanyl, and 3 Suboxone strips. After searching a lock box in the car, police said they found several bags of crystal meth and an additional 22 suboxone strips, a scale, and packaging materials.

James Barnhill, 42, and Samantha Raphael, both of Quincy were charged with possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine, two counts of cocaine possession, and two counts of suboxone possession. Three others in the car faced charges of possessing methamphetamine, fentanyl, cocaine, and Suboxone, but their names were not released, as Quincy police doesn’t release names for possession charges.

While interviewing the five suspects, police pulled over the pickup truck. The driver was identified as Terry Bowman, 41, of Quincy, and Robert Hill, 42, of Weymouth. Police said they seized cocaine, heroin/fentanyl, and Suboxone strips. Both were charged with possession of fentanyl with intent to distribute and cocaine possession. Bowman was also charged with driving on a suspended license.

The seven suspects were scheduled to be arraigned in Quincy District Court Wednesday.
