8 arrested in alleged cocaine, heroin, fentanyl ring – The Buffalo News

Eight people have been arrested on federal charges in an alleged cocaine, heroin and fentanyl ring, according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office.

Three of those named in the indictment are Lackawanna residents: Felix Calderon-Valcarcel, 28; Wilmer Casiano-Perez, 25, and Yarimar Berrios Alvarado, 24.

Three named in the indictment are from Niagara Falls: Lavon Parks, 28; James C. Parks, 55, and Wayne E. Paye, no age provided.

The remaining two, Annette Lugo Rodriguez, 39, and Vivian Pintado-Figueroa, 40, are residents of San Juan, Puerto Rico, according to the indictment.

Each was charged with conspiracy to distribute cocaine, heroin and fentanyl, which carries a mandatory minimum 10-year prison sentence and a maximum of life in prison.

According to federal prosecutors, the eight people arrested allegedly participated in a narcotics conspiracy, responsible for distributing cocaine, heroin and fentanyl in Western New York and received the bulk of their cocaine from suppliers in Puerto Rico, via the U.S. Postal Service.

An investigation resulted in the seizure of about 10.5 kilos of cocaine and $52,000 cash intercepted from parcels shipped through the mail between Puerto Rico and New York, as well as Florida, Alaska, Georgia and Pennsylvania, between July 2018 and February, prosecutors said.
