Agents seize meth, heroin, fentanyl and pot in west Georgia drug bust

CARROLL COUNTY, Ga. — State drug agents made two arrests on Tuesday as part of a lengthy investigation into the trafficking of deadly drugs.

According to the Georgia Bureau of Investigation, their West Metro Regional Drug Enforcement Office (WMRDEO) arrested 44-year-old Guy Anthony Robinson of Rockmart, Georgia and 43-year-old Kahsai Berhane Goitom of Santa Rosa, California on several charges including trafficking methamphetamine, trafficking heroin and trafficking fentanyl.

Robinson also faces charges of obstruction of law enforcement and use of a telecommunications device to commit a felony. Goitom faces an additional charge of possession of marijuana.

In all, the investigation netted about 4 kilograms of meth, 22 grams of heroin, four grams of fentanyl and 10 grams of marijuana. Both suspects were taken to the Carroll County Sheriff’s Office as the investigation continues.

Several police departments and sheriff’s offices along with the GBI make up the WMRDEO; though, the group also had assistance from the Georgia State Patrol and the Georgia Division of Public Safety’s Motor Carrier Compliance Division in the investigations and arrests.
