04 Apr Authorities stop Glendale man with fentanyl in Yuma County
U.S. Customs and Border Protection officers arrested an Arizona man for an alleged attempt to smuggle fentanyl through the Port of San Luis.
Officers referred a 23-year-old Glendale man for additional inspection as he attempted to enter the U.S. Tuesday afternoon.
Authorities said a condom filled with fentanyl was seized by officers after a canine alerted them to the smugglers groin.
The single package weighed 0.12 pounds worth an estimated value of $1,740.
Officers seized the drugs while the subject was arrested and turned over to U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement’s Homeland Security Investigations.
