Brockton police dismantle fentanyl, heroin ring near homeless shelter – News – Wicked Local Brockton

Police seized about 60 grams of fentanyl, 30 grams of crack cocaine, 20 grams of cocaine, a 2.5 gram mix of fentanyl and heroin and about $6,500.

BROCKTON — Police arrested four Brockton men, who they say were part of a drug ring, next to a homeless shelter Saturday, with three facing felony charges.

After a month-long investigation, city detectives executed a search warrant at a 88 North Main St. apartment, located next to the Father Bill’s & MainSpring shelter (54 North Main St.), according to a police spokesman Darren Duarte.

They arrested 55-year-old Luis Colon, who was the target of the investigation. Detectives also arrested 24-year-old Christopher Lugo, 22-year-old Josue Manuel Torres and 52-year-old Charles Warren.

Upon searching Colon, detectives say they found 1.5 grams of fentanyl in his waistband. In a kitchen cabinet, they also discovered a plastic bag containing 51.7 grams of fentanyl and eight counterfeit $100 bills in a bedroom closet.

Police say Lugo attempted to jump out of a bedroom window when detectives entered the room, but was arrested. Police recovered 20 grams of cocaine, 18.2 grams of crack cocaine, 2.5 grams of heroin and fentanyl, two Oxycodone pills, four Adderall capsules and more than $5,300 in cash, Duarte said.

Detectives seized 6.5 grams of fentanyl on the bed where they found Torres, as well as 12.4 grams of crack cocaine, $1,244 in cash and 12 suboxone strips in a backpack next to him, Duarte said.

Detectives say they found about a half-gram of cocaine in Warren’s front pants pocket.

Lugo, who allegedly provided a false name to police, was charged with possession with intent to distribute a Class A drug, possession of a Class B drug, trafficking heroin in excess of 18 grams, providing false identification to law enforcement, trafficking cocaine, possession with intent to distribute a Class B drug and possession of a Class C drug.

Colon faces charges of possession with intent to distribute a Class A drug and trafficking heroin in excess of 18 grams. Torres faces charges of possession with intent to distribute a Class B drug, possession with intent to distribute a Class A drug and trafficking heroin in excess of 18 grams. Warren was charged with possession with intent to distribute a Class B drug.

All four men are expected to be arraigned Monday in Brockton District Court.
