A Buffalo man who was caught by law enforcement with fentanyl and crack cocaine was charged Friday in federal court with possession with intent to distribute schedule I and schedule II controlled substances, according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office.
Marcello Wiggins, 36, faces a maximum penalty of 20-years in prison if he is convicted on the charges.
According to prosecutors, law enforcement investigators received a tip that Wiggins was in possession of a large quantity of fentanyl and crack cocaine while using a taxi cab to distribute the drugs. On Thursday, investigators observed Wiggins in a rear passenger seat of the taxi and seized a scale with residue and plastic bag containing several smaller bags with suspected fentanyl and crack cocaine from the vehicle, prosecutors said.
