Concord Man Arrested On Drug Charge In Hooksett

HOOKSETT, NH — A local man is facing a drug charge after being arrested due, initially, to motor vehicle complaints about a driver he was with on Friday night. Mark Gagnon, 39, of Concord, was arrested on June 14, 2019, and charged with possession of drugs. At around 8:30 p.m. on Friday officers in Hooksett were told about a grey Chevrolet truck that was “speeding and swerving” through both the Walmart and Kohl’s parking lots.

The truck was located on West River Road near Riverside Street and “briefly took off from officers before being located and stopped on Merrimack Street,” according to Sgt. Mike Zappala of the Hooksett Police Department. The officers spoke to the operator and the passenger of the vehicle – Gagnon – who was asked to step out of the truck.

“Officers continued to speak with Gagnon and through their investigation, he admitted that there were drugs in the vehicle,” Zappala stated. “Gagnon consented to a search of his person which resulted in locating a baggy with a tan powdery substance suspected to be heroin/fentanyl.”

The driver of the vehicle reportedly refused a consent search of the truck so it was seized until police could get approval for a search warrant. Gagnon was arrested and transported to the Bow Police Department where he was booked, processed, and released on personal recognizance bail. He’s due in Merrimack County Superior Court on June 27.

More charges are expected to be filed concerning the case, Zappala noted.
