Drug Task Force discovers fentanyl, firearms and money | City & State

A traffic stop in Lafayette on Tuesday resulted in the arrest of 29-year-old Paris Hill and the subsequent discovery of drugs, money and firearms.

The Lafayette Police Department stopped Hill for a traffic violation at the intersection of Fairington Avenue and Vineyards Court, according to an LPD press release. Hill had been the subject of an ongoing investigation by the Tippecanoe Drug Task Force, according to the release, and a search of his vehicle turned up synthetic urine and paraphernalia.

Paris Hill was arrested following a joint investigation led by the Tippecanoe County Drug Task Force.



Police served a search warrant at Hill’s residence, 515 Vineyards Court, after the traffic stop. Inside, authorities located John McKeever, 75, Andrea McKeever-Austin, 28, and two children under the age of 5.

During the course of the search of the residence, police found 12.7 grams of fentanyl, 28.9 grams of ecstasy and $10,683 in cash. Police also discovered five firearms, two of which had been previously reported as stolen.

One weapon was reported stolen through the West Lafayette Police Department and the other through authorities in Frankfort, according to the release.

McKeever Austin was arrested for neglect of a dependent. McKeever was arrested for possession of marijuana less than 30 grams.

Hill was arrested on a series of preliminary charges, including two counts of dealing in a narcotic drug, two counts of possession of a narcotic drug, two counts of possession of a stolen firearm, possession of synthetic urine, possession of paraphernalia and neglect of a dependent.

The two children were placed in the care of the Department of Child Services.
