Easton police searching for drug suspect after $8K of heroin laced with fentanyl recovered

Easton police are searching for a city man after $8,000 in heroin laced with fentanyl was recovered Tuesday morning at a West Ward apartment, according to a news release.

The city Vice and Special Response units had a search warrant and an arrest warrant at 10:14 a.m. as they entered Apartment 10 at 1440 Washington St., Lt. Matthew Gerould said. The arrest warrant charged 35-year-old Ibin Gordon with delivery of heroin in the neighborhood and criminal use of a cellphone, Gerould said. But Gordon was not there.

It is believed Gordon has ties to the Phillipsburg area and was using the apartment to stash drugs, Gerould said. Controlled purchases were made connected to the West Ward residence, Gerould said.

“The focus (on Tuesday) was to get the evidence and still search for him,” Gerould said.

Police also recovered $2,983 in cash and paraphernalia “consistent with heroin sales,” Gerould said.

Gordon will face additional drug charges after the raid due to what was found, Gerould said.

The heroin/fentanyl was stamped with “blue thunder” and “block stopper” and tested positive for both drugs, Gerould said.

Gordon is 6 feet tall, weighs 170 pounds and has a medium build, brown eyes and black hair, Gerould said.

If anyone knows where he might be, they can call 610-759-2200 or the department’s tip line at 610-250-6635.
