Fall River woman held without bail for allegedly trafficking fentanyl – News – The Herald News, Fall River, MA

FALL RIVER — A city woman is being held without bail pending a dangerousness hearing in District Court after police armed with a search warrant allegedly found over 41 grams of suspected fentanyl in her apartment, according to court documents.

Jamie Nobles, 41, of 26 Arthur St., was arraigned Monday on a charge of trafficking over 36 grams of fentanyl, court documents show. She faces a sentence of five to 20 years in state prison if convicted.

According to a police report prepared by Detective Paul McGuire on file at District Court, Nobles was the target of a search warrant executed Friday. Officers performing surveillance on her residence saw Nobles leave her apartment and get into her roommate’s car.

Nobles appeared to place something in the trunk of the vehicle before getting into the passenger seat and driving away with her roommate. According to the report, the car pulled away from the home, heading north on Arthur Street.

McGuire radioed another detective, who pulled the car over on North Main Street. Nobles decided she wanted to be present while officers searched her apartment, and was transported to her residence.

Meanwhile, detectives with the Fall River Police Department were let inside Nobles’ apartment by one of three people home at the time, according to the report.

Nobles arrived with a Fall River police detective shortly after. According to McGuire’s report, asked whether there were narcotics in the apartment, Nobles directed police to a closet where investigators allegedly found 395 small glassine bags containing a white powder substance that McGuire suspected was fentanyl.

According to the report, police found a plastic bag containing over 41 grams of suspected fentanyl inside a plastic box labeled with the name “Jamie.”

Two members of the Commonwealth Interstate Narcotics Reduction Enforcement Team arrived to assist local police. Nobles was arrested Friday and held over the weekend before her arraignment in District Court Monday.

Prosecutors have requested permission from a judge to seize $1,017 in cash police said was found in Nobles’ purse, court documents show.

Nobles is due back in court Monday, when a judge will decide whether she is given bail before trial.
