Fayette County man charged in S. Strabane fatal overdose | Local News

Jeffrey Horabik, 32, of Redstone Township, faces counts of drug delivery resulting in death and other drug charges in connection with the death of James Dunn two months ago.

Authorities were called to Dunn’s home on Roberts Road, where the 37-year-old was pronounced dead. The Washington County corner’s office later ruled he had died from taking heroin and fentanyl.

Police kept several empty and full stamp bags marked “SAFE TRIP” they found at the scene. A state police laboratory in Greensburg determined the bags contained the same drugs listed in the toxicology report for Dunn.

Sgt. Michael Manfredi wrote in the papers charging Horabik that he later interviewed the suspect at an address in Centerville, and then again at his station, where Horabik allegedly confessed he’d sold stamp bags with the same markings to Dunn.

“Horabik said he last sold Dunn the stamp bags late Thursday night (October 18th)” at a house on Jane Street, Manfredi wrote. He added that Horabik allegedly “admitted to selling Dunn heroin/fentanyl several times in the recent past.”

Court papers also say Horabik told police he had stamp bags in the center console of the black Honda he’d arrived in for the Centerville interview. Manfredi said he found 30 such bags, with the same label as the ones from Dunn’s home, in the console.

The Greensburg lab later found heroin and fentanyl in them.

An obituary for Dunn said he was a machinist at Dynamet Inc.

The charges were filed Wednesday. Court records show Horabik was freed on $100,000 unsecured bond following his arraignment before District Judge David Mark.

Records don’t list an attorney for Horabik.
