09 Jun Florida sex game: Woman ‘shot dead by partner’ in Valrico identified
Paloma Williams, 24, was found dead on May 26 at her lover’s house in Valrico, Florida.
Andrew Charles Shinault, 23, was afterwards charged with manslaughter and is being held on £39,000 ($50,000) bail.
The pair had been dating for just two weeks, and Paloma was found with a fatal gunshot wound to the chest.
Shinault reportedly told cops that they had been using a 9 mm Taurus handgun for “sexual gratification and arousal”.
He claims that Paloma rubbed the gun along his body before he did the same to her.
Shinault says he was pointing the weapon at her chest before Paloma grabbed it, setting the firearm off.
She was rushed to Brandon Regional Hospital but later died from her injuries.
Cops inspected the gun and believe it could not have gone off so easily, according to a police document.
Shinault said he had snorted a small amount of methamphetamine approximately two hours before the shooting.
He also alleges that Paloma had taken fentanyl, a prescription opiod that is used to relieve pain.
It is also mixed recreationally with heroin and cocaine.
Last month, a lawyer in Russia was found dead surrounded by sex toys after another BDSM game gone wrong.
Dmitry Nekrasov, a state prosecutor in Russia, was found dead in his flat with neck injuries “consistent with strangulation”.
Police discovered the number of one of the colleagues – another named junior prosecutor – and detained him.
Reports citing law enforcement say the other man confessed it was an “innocent” sex game “going wrong”.
