Four Beverly City men indicted on 59 drug charges involving the possession and sale of fentanyl, heroin and marijuana – News – Burlington County Times

The charges stem from an undercover narcotics operation conducted early last year in Beverly City by the Burlington County Prosecutor’s Office Gang, Gun and Narcotics Task Force and the Beverly City Police Department.

MOUNT HOLLY — Four Beverly City men have been indicted on a total of 59 drug charges involving the possession and sale of fentanyl, heroin and marijuana, the Burlington County Prosecutor’s Office announced Friday.

Charles C. Tallmadge Jr., 58, of Broad Street; Derrick Bell, 27, of the Delacove Homes; Robert J. Hawkins, 49, of Cooper Street; and Davaughn J. Whitfield-Gaines, 21, of Third Street, were all indicted by a Burlington County grand jury on Tuesday for distribution of a controlled dangerous substance, as well of multiple other offenses. The majority of the indicted drug charges were third-degree offenses.

The charges stem from an undercover narcotics operation conducted early last year in Beverly City by the Burlington County Prosecutor’s Office Gang, Gun and Narcotics Task Force and the Beverly City Police Department.

The investigation revealed Tallmadge’s residence on Broad Street was being used to sell drugs, the prosecutor’s office said. The home was the location of numerous calls for police service, including suspected drug activity, weapons offenses, gambling, large crowds and disorderly persons offenses, according to the prosecutor’s office.

A search warrant was executed in March 2018, which led to the arrests of multiple people, four being those indicted this week.

An arraignment will be scheduled soon in Superior Court in Mount Holly.

The Edgewater Park Police Department and the New Jersey State Police T.E.A.M.S. Unit (Technical Emergency and Mission Specialists) provided assistance executing the search warrant and taking the defendants into custody.
