Gainesville man arrested, accused of possessing crack cocaine, fentanyl

GAINESVILLE, Fla. (WJCB)– Chrishaune Latez Lee, 22, was taken into custody Thursday after Alachua County deputies say he was in possession of various illegal substances.

According to his arrest report, deputies pulled over a vehicle on Southwest 20th Avenue in Gainesville. Lee was in the back seat.

Deputies said they detected the smell of marijuana, prompting a search of the car.

In the back seat, investigators found synthetic narcotics, marijuana, crack cocaine and fentanyl. They also found a loaded .22 caliber handgun.

More synthetic narcotics were found in the trunk of the car.

Detectives questioned Lee, who said he did not want to speak to law enforcement. He asked if another person in the vehicle was released. When deputies said yes, Lee told them he no longer wished to speak.

Lee was booked into the Alachua County Jail on charges of possession of a controlled substance for all the drugs.

Due to a previous conviction of possession of cocaine, Lee was also charged with possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
