Gloucester District Court: Woman jailed 3 months on fentanyl charge | Local News

A 20-year-old Gloucester woman is spending three months in jail after she copped to her role in a drug distribution ring that was broken up when police carried out a search warrant on her East Gloucester home.

Stevie Kolodzik of 52 East Main St., Apartment 2, had been arrested with two other residents in August after police followed up on information that indicated Kolodzik and others were dealing the drug fentanyl out of their home.

Police obtained a search warrant through Gloucester District Court and carried out a raid on the apartment, where they found “multiple packages” of a power substance believed to be fentanyl in a second-floor bedroom, according to police Detective Jonathan Trefry’s report. Police also found digital measuring scales, cutting agents, sandwich bags and other paraphernalia commonly used in the sale and distribution of drugs, Trefry’s report says.

Kolodzik was sentenced by Judge Michael Patten to 2 1/2 years in a house of correction, with 91 days to be served and the remainder suspended through January 2022, after pleading guilty to possession of a Class A drug, the fentanyl, with intent to distribute.

Kolodzik also pleaded guilty to possession of a Class D substance and was sentenced to a concurrent two-year jail term and had the case filed. A charge of simple possession of a Class A substance was dismissed at the request of the commonwealth.

In disposition of other cases heard at Gloucester District Court:

Jackson van Kirk Friedman, 22, of 28 Candlewood Road in Ipswich was ordered to surrender his license for 45 days after he submitted to facts sufficient to warrant a guilty finding on charges of driving under the influence of liquor and driving without a license. Friedman was ordered to complete a national drinking and driving program while his case is continued without a finding through January 2020. He was ordered to pay $250 toward its cost, $250 to the fund for head injury victims, and $50 each to the court’s victim witness fund and the fund for OUI victims, a total of $600. The charges stemmed from a single-car crash involving Friedman in November on Choate Street in Essex.

Dusty J. Farris, 43, of 93 Prospect St., Apt. 2, was ordered to pay $50 to the court’s victim witness fund and placed on pretrial probation through June 20 after pleading guilty to a charge of resisting arrest. A charge of disorderly conduct was placed on file. Farris was ordered to remain drug- and alcohol-free during the probationary period, and to attend meetings of Alcoholics Anonymous. The charges came in November after Gloucester police responded to a calls reporting a man acting “erratically” outside the McPherson Park housing complex, and Farris clashed with police who came to investigate.

Gabriella Wood, 24, of 71 Summer St., had a charge of trespassing simply placed on file after she entered a guilty plea. Wood was one of four people charged with swimming in Babson Reservoir when police responded there last August.

Roland M. Parsons, 44, of 80 Veterans Way was ordered to pay $50 to the court’s victim-witness fund after he pleaded guilty to a subsequent offense of driving on a suspended license. A charge of driving without a valid inspection sticker was placed on file. Parsons had been charged following a traffic stop carried out by Massachusetts State Police last May on Washington Street.
