Falls Police Narcotics Intelligence Division detectives said it wasn’t hard to find where drugs were being dealt on Haeberle Avenue.

“It might have been the traffic in and out (of 1164 Haeberle Ave.),” Detective Shawn Watson said. “It was pretty busy there.”

At one point, investigators said customers were arriving at a rate of at least a couple an hour to Demetrics Evans’ apartment. The Falls man was offering a smorgasbord of narcotics.

“He had a little bit of everything,” Watson said. “Heroin, fentanyl, cocaine, crack and powder.”

Officers with the Falls Police Emergency Response Team burst through the front door of Evans’ apartment around 8:30 p.m. Wednesday. As they entered the apartment, they spotted not just Evans, but his girlfriend and a child.

“In plain view, on the coffee table, there was a plastic jar with a gray powder substance,” Watson said. “It was 1.8 grams of fentanyl, right there on the coffee table.”

Next to the fentanyl, investigators found a digital scale with fentanyl residue, plastic baggies, a cutting agent and 2.4 grams of cocaine.

A further search of the apartment turned-up two baggies, containing 6 grams of crack cocaine in a woman’s boot in a back bedroom. Officers also found a quantity of handgun ammunition and $6,362 in cash.

Evans, 27, 1164 Haeberle Ave. lower, was charged with three counts of third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, single counts of fourth-, fifth- and seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and second-degree criminal use of drug paraphernalia.
