Hagerstown man sentenced to 14 years for fentanyl distribution | Local News

Prosecutors have said Henderson admitted that his drug-trafficking organization sold the powerful synthetic opioid that resulted in both fatal and non-fatal overdoses, including the deaths of Marc Brumbaugh, 27, and Nathan Bolden, 31.

“Antoine Henderson supervised an organization that distributed fentanyl in Washington County and the surrounding area, leading to at least two overdose deaths,” U.S. Attorney Robert K. Hur said in a news release announcing the sentence. “Henderson will now spend 14 years in federal prison, where there is no parole — ever.”

After the 14-year sentence, imposed by U.S. District Judge Richard D. Bennett, Henderson will be on five years of supervised release.

According to Henderson’s plea agreement, he and others distributed at least 280 grams of fentanyl — enough to kill nearly every resident in Washington County — in 2017 and 2018. As little as two milligrams of fentanyl can be lethal, prosecutors said.

Investigators made at least six purchases of either fentanyl or crack cocaine from Henderson or his co-defendant in the case in August and September 2017. Several purchases were supposed to be heroin, but lab tests showed they were fentanyl.

In January 2018, authorities executed search warrants at two locations near Hagerstown and three vehicles involved in Henderson’s drug-trafficking operation, finding more than 80 grams of fentanyl at a stash house on Atlantic Drive.

Agents also recovered 9 mm ammunition, a drug press, digital scales, drug packaging equipment, plastic bags with fentanyl residue, cellphones and drug paraphernalia.

At Henderson’s primary residence on Lantern Lane, authorities recovered additional cellphones, a money counter, jewelry and a garage-door opener to the garage at the stash house.

Warrants were obtained for 28 cellphones recovered from the houses and cars, as well as video from the surveillance system at the stash house. On Henderson’s iPhone, agents found “notes” tracking law-enforcement surveillance.
