A collaborative investigation with officials from the Indiana State Police Drug Enforcement Section, Logansport Police Department and the Cass County Drug Task Force led to the arrest of a Logansport man who police said was dealing heroin laced with fentanyl.

After a police search of his property in the 10 block of Fountain Street Tuesday afternoon, Nathaniel Ewing, 32, Logansport, was arrested on felony preliminary charges of dealing a narcotic drug (heroin) with enhancements, possession of meth, possession of a narcotic drug (heroin) with enhancements, obliteration of identifying marks on a handgun and maintaining a common nuisance, as well as misdemeanor counts of possession of marijuana and possession of paraphernalia, LPD Asst. Chief Dan Frye said.

The search came as a result of numerous public complaints, Frye said.

Inside the residence, police located seven grams of heroin laced with fentanyl, methamphetamine, marijuana, various prescription medication, two handguns and an AK-47 assault rifle with a loaded magazine of 100 rounds of ammunition, Frye said.

Police said it’s an ongoing investigation, and more arrests are expected.
