Kelowna Mounties seize drugs, weapons in raid of gang member’s home

Mounties in Kelowna believe they have cut off a conduit of drugs to the Okanagan Valley after raiding a gang member’s home like the Grinch who stole Christmas. 

On Dec. 19, the Kelowna Drug Unit raided a property in the 500 block of Valley Road, following an investigation into a 32-year-old male member of the Independent Soldiers Gang.

The investigation “uncovered a conduit of drugs being trafficked throughout the Okanagan Valley and directly to some of Kelowna’s most vulnerable persons associated to a support shelter in Kelowna,” police said, after executing a search warrant at the property.

The search resulted in the seizure of a stash of what is believed to be fentanyl, cocaine, crack cocaine, heroin, shatter, oxycontin, methamphetamine, and over 1000 various pills, as well as additional drug paraphernalia, numerous stolen credit cards ID’s, cash, passports, and a taser.

Why, those grinches even took the gang member’s last can of Who-hash.

Police said the 32-year-old, as well as a male associate, 44, may be facing numerous drug and weapons charges.

“The result of this investigation and drugs seized by the Kelowna Drug Unit, will have a direct impact on the drug supply to not only the vulnerable persons and others in Downtown Kelowna, but also throughout the Okanagan Valley,” said Cpl. Jeff Carroll.
