Detectives tracked two Lee County residents to a Charlotte County hotel Tuesday and arrested them on drugs and weapons charges.

According to the Charlotte County Sheriff’s Office, Alicia Swartz, 34, and JD Irons, 31, were tracked to the Knights Inn on Jones Loop Road in Punta Gorda by Lee County deputies. Irons had outstanding warrants in Lee County.

Detectives saw handguns and drugs in the hotel room occupied by Swartz and Irons. They took the pair into custody and obtained a search warrant, the news release noted.

Detectives confirmed through dispatch that both suspects are convicted felons.

They found two handguns; a black SCCY CPX-2 and a black Glock 27. The Glock was stolen out of Lee County, deputies reported. Methamphetamine, cocaine, heroin, fentanyl and a naloxone patch were confiscated, as well as baggies and a small scale.

The fentanyl was packaged for sale in 12 separate small baggies, deputies reported.

Swartz and Irons were each charged with possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, theft of a firearm, and four counts of possession of a controlled substance for the cocaine, heroin, MDMA, naloxone and possession of a controlled substance with intent to sell (fentanyl).

Both suspects remained at the Charlotte County Jail on Wednesday morning.
