Livingston County News | Bath woman charged after 75 needles, fentanyl found

A Bath woman is facing numerous drug-related and other charges following a traffic stop in which 75 hypodermic needles were recovered, reports the Livingston County Sheriff’s Office.

Nitashia L. Robb, 27, was a passenger in a vehicle that was stopped Dec. 22 on Interstate 390 by Deputy Shawn Whitford, who was on an Operation Safe Interstate patrol.

The vehicle was drivern by Sean Kohlmeier who, following a driver’s license check, was found to have had his license suspended three times.

During the courses of the traffic stop and roadside investigation, the deputy talked with Robb and observed items indicative of drug use in the vehicle, the Sheriff’s Office said.

As the investigation continued, 75 hypodermic needles were recovered, packaging commonly used for narcotics were seized, and two stolen purses and candy from a Dollar General store were recovered.

Robb was charged with second-degree criminal use of drug paraphernalia, a class A misdemeanor, three counts of fifth-degree criminal possession of stolen property, also a class A misdemeanor.

Kohlmeier was charged with third-degree aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle.

During a post-arrest search of his patrol vehicle, Whitford located a bag of suspected heroin/fentanyl under the seat where Robb had been sitting. The substance was field tested and showed positive for fentanyl, the Sheriff’s Office said.

Robb was subsequently charged with seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, a class A misdemeanor, and tampering with physical evidence, a class E felony.

Kohlmeier and Robb were both later arraigned in the Livingston County Central Arraignment Part (LC-CAP) at Livingston County Jail by Groveland Town Justice Jeanean Love. Kohlmeier was remanded to the custody of the Sheriff on $200 cash bail or $400 bond. Robb was remanded on $4,000 cash bail or $8,0000 bond.

The Livingston County District Attorney’s Office had requested bail of $5,000 cash or $10,000 bond for Robb.

While Robb was being changed into a jail outfit, a bag of suspected heroin/fentanyl was located on her person. The substance was later field tested and found to be fentanyl, the Sheriff’s Office said.

Robb was additionally charged with first-degree promoting prison contraband, a class D felony, and seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, a class A misdemeanor.

Robb was arraigned on the new charges and Love set additional bail at $1,500 cash or $2,000 bond. The District Attorney’s Office had requested bail of $2,500 cash or $5,000 bond on the new charges.

Deputy Michael Phillips of the Sheriff’s Office STOP DWI Unit did assist on scene. The Geneseo Police Department assisted with a female search roadside and the Nunda Police Department assisted with the stolen candy portion of the investigation from the Nunda Dollar General.
