Lorain man sentenced to life in prison for selling fentanyl that killed 23-year-old

A Lorain man will spend the rest of his life in federal prison after he was convicted of selling fentanyl that killed a 23-year-old man.

Fifty-year-old Russell Davis was convicted last year of one count of distribution of fentanyl that resulted in death. Authorities say Davis sold the fentanyl to Jacob Castro-White (also of Lorain), who died of an overdose on Mar. 7, 2016.

U.S. Attorney Justin Herdman issued the following statement:

“Seeking long prison sentences for those who profit from selling the drugs killing our friends and neighbors is a crucial component to overcoming this epidemic that has cause so much pain and suffering. The Lorain Police Department, FBI, the Lorain County Prosecutor’s Office are all to be commended for their diligence in this case.”
