Man Accused of Selling Heroin Laced With Fentanyl in Norwalk

Norwalk Police have arrested a man from Bridgeport who is accused of selling heroin laced with fentanyl.

In January of 2019, officers with the Special Services Division learned that a man was selling heroin laced with fentanyl in Norwalk, police said.

An investigation was initiated and multiple controlled purchases of heroin were made from the man, who was later identified as 33-year-old Kentwan Chappell, of Bridgeport, according to police.

An arrest warrant and several search warrants were obtained by investigators.

On Tuesday, police arrested Chappell on Cottage Street. Officers said he was in possession of 49 bags of heroin, which a field test found to be laced with fentanyl.

Chappell is facing multiple charges including sale of narcotics, possession of a controlled substance, possession of narcotics with intent to sell, possession of narcotics within 1,500 feet of a school and possession of drug paraphernalia. His bond was set at $250,000.
