Man arrested in Ocala on drug trafficking charges – News – Ocala.com

Six indicted for conspiring to distribute cocaine, heroine and fentanyl

A man wanted for drugs by federal officials has been captured in Ocala by local law enforcement officials.

Ocala Policet officers received information that Kevin Gene Hart was in the area of State Road 200 and searched for him on Friday. Officers saw Hart by a vehicle along Southwest 27th Avenue. When Hart saw officers, he ran, but was quickly apprehended by the officers.

Hart was charged with resisting an officer without violence and transported to the Marion County Jail. Police officials said Hart has a violation of probation warrant from Alachua County for trafficking cocaine. His probation concludes in October 2022, according to state records.

Federal authorities said Hart and five other people were indicted by a grand jury on March 27 for distributing a controlled substance.

In the indictment, federal authorities notes the drugs involved were five kilograms of cocaine, one kilogram of heroin and 400 grams or more of fentanyl. The document states the six conspire with each other or other people to distribute the drugs from January 2012 through late March 2019.

Those named in the indictment were: Gary Eugene “G-Money” or “G” Hayes, 38; 29-year-old Darren Michael “Corner Boy” Beatty; Jeremy Jermaine “Stunner” Willis, 37; Deandre Amaad “Smooth” Williams, 29; and 33-year-old Kathy Suleydy Lopez.

Authorities said the six are from Ocala, and jail records show they’re at the facility.

State records indicate Beatty has been locked up at the jail since September 2018 for drug possession and a driving infraction. His case is ongoing.

Hayes and Willis are currently serving time in prison for various offenses, according to state records. Convicted of attempted second degree murder, Willis is not scheduled to be released until March 2030.

Locally, Williams criminal record include improper exhibition of a firearm, while Lopez does not have a criminal history, local court records.
