Man charged with distributing fentanyl from Stoughton home – News – The Enterprise, Brockton, MA

Fortunato Alves, of 380 Park St., Stoughton, was arrested on Saturday, after a search warrant was executed at his home address, according to police. Alves is charged with distribution of a Class A substance, fentanyl, Stoughton police said.

STOUGHTON – The first name of this Stoughton man is “Fortunato,” but he wasn’t so fortunate on Saturday.

An investigation into fentanyl distribution in Stoughton ended with an arrest on Saturday after a search warrant was conducted on a Park Street home, according to police. Fortunato Alves, 39, of 380 Park St., Stoughton, was arrested on Saturday afternoon and charged with distribution of a Class A substance, fentanyl, Stoughton police said.

Alves was the target of the investigation and the search, which turned up nine grams of fentanyl, Stoughton police said.

During the search, police re-routed traffic on Park Street for a few minutes. Stoughton police said in a statement released online that the traffic was re-routed was for “the safety of everyone in the area.”

Alves is expected to be arraigned on the fentanyl distribution charge at Stoughton District Court on Monday.

In 2009, Alves and a friend were shot at the 380 Park St., a two-family home located closed to Bob’s Famous Foodmart and Discount Liquors. Police said that was a deal to sell pit bulls gone wrong. Arrested in that incident were three men from Plymouth and Brockton, Eduardo Fontes, Plymouth; John Centeio Silva, and Vanderlee Fernandes, who faced a litany of charges including armed robbery and assault with intent to murder.

During that incident, Stoughton police said they found Alves by the side of the road outside the Park Street home, with a bullet wound to his leg, using his belt as a tourniquet to stem the bleeding. The other man who was shot then, Charles, Buccieri, with a wound to the abdomen, drove himself to nearby Good Samaritan Medical Center, police said.
