The number of overdoses in New Hampshire’s two largest cities is declining but the number of overdose deaths actually grew in Manchester in April.

Officials say seven people died from overdoses last month in Manchester, compared with two in April 2018. Chris Stawasz, regional director of American Medical Response, tells WMUR-TV the Manchester numbers are “disturbing” and says potent Fentanyl is likely behind the numbers.

Officials say there were 50 total overdoses in Manchester in April, which is seven fewer than March. In Nashua, there were 24 overdoses in April, down from seven the month before, and one death.
