DALLAS, Texas — A Minnesota man has been indicted for mailing fentanyl to a Dallas resident and 10 others who died from its consumption and caused serious bodily injury to four others.

28-year-old Aaron Rhy Broussard was indicted on 21 counts related to the distribution of controlled substances, including fentanyl.

According to a 16-page indictment sheet, obtained by MyTexasDaily.com, Broussard is alleged to have obtained controlled substances from China-based drug suppliers, repackaged the drugs upon receipt, and marketed them for sale in the United States via online marketplaces.

“Between April 1 and April 27, 2016, Broussard sent packages containing fentanyl to multiple customers throughout the United States,” read a statement from the U.S. Attorney’s Office in the District of Minnesota. “After ingesting the controlled substance received from Broussard, eleven of the customers died from a fentanyl overdose and four customers suffered serious bodily injury.”

“Broussard continued to distribute controlled substances to customers even after learning that some had overdosed,” continued the statement.

According to the indictment, including mailing the package containing fentanyl to the Dallas victim on April 14, 2016, Broussard also allegedly shipped packages to Atlanta, Georgia; Belding, Michigan; Paint Lick, Kentucky; Peoria Heights, Illinois; Aliso Viejo, California; Stacy, Minnesota; Deltona, Florida; Millcreek, Pennsylvania; Binghamton, New York; Waukee, Iowa; Hazel Green, Wisconsin; and Scranton, Pennsylvania.
