A Nashville man has been arrested after police say he provided the drug’s that let to a woman’s fatal overdose.

Sara Elizabeth Roberts, 33, overdosed at her E. Thompson Lane home on Dec. 23, 2017.

An autopsy determined Roberts died of acute drug toxicity from a combination of heroin, fentanyl and alcohol.

Christopher Floyd, 31, has been indicted on Friday on a charge of second degree murder in connection with her death.

Police say Floyd is believed to have provided the heroin/fentanyl mix that led to Roberts’ death.

Floyd was taken into custody without incident at his Batavia Street home. He remained in maximum custody in the Davidson County jail in lieu of $100,000 bond on Tuesday evening.

It was not immediately clear if Floyd had legal representation. He is scheduled for arraignment on May 15 at 9 a.m.

Floyd is not the first person in recent years to be charged in connection with fatal overdoses after allegedly supplying the drugs that caused them.

Several people in Rutherford County were convicted in 2018 after counterfeit Percocet pills were connected to one death and seven other serious overdoses, the U.S. Attorney’s Office said.

In December, three Murfreesboro residents were arrested on drug-related charges after police began investigating overdoses linked to fentanyl-laced heroin.
