NORRISTOWN — A Plymouth Township man is in jail awaiting his fate from a judge after he admitted to charges he illegally possessed a gun and was engaged in drug trafficking activity.
Sean Wise, 30, of the first block of Ross Street, pleaded guilty in Montgomery County Court to felony charges of person not to possess a firearm and possession with intent to deliver heroin in connection with incidents that occurred in June 2017.
Judge Todd D. Eisenberg deferred sentencing so that court officials can complete a background investigation report about Wise, including drug and alcohol evaluations. Wise was remanded to the county jail without bail to await a sentencing hearing later this year.

Wise faces a possible maximum sentence of 7½-to-15-years in prison on the charges.
Court documents indicate an investigation of Wise began in May 2017 when an informant working with county detectives met with Wise on several occasions at locations in Norristown and purchased heroin from Wise.
“While under constant visual surveillance (the informant) met with the defendant, purchased heroin and turned it over to detectives,” prosecutors alleged in court documents.
“Heroin and fentanyl & mixed & manufactured into a very fine powder, thereby, making the possibility of this powder to go airborne. This puts law enforcement at great risk if it were to be inhaled or ingested.” – #MontcoPa detectives Sean Wise pleaded guilty to gun, drug charge

On June 2, detectives obtained a warrant to search Wise’s residence and two vehicles and members of the county’s Narcotics Enforcement Team carried out the search, according to a criminal complaint.
During the search, detectives seized a Taurus 9mm handgun loaded with 13 bullets, suspected heroin or fentanyl, suspected crack cocaine and drug paraphernalia, according to the arrest affidavit.
Detectives alleged that based on their training and experience Wise possessed the drugs “with the intent to deliver.” Wise, detectives alleged in court papers, also had a criminal history that included robbery and drug arrests and convictions that prohibited him from possessing a firearm.
In court documents, detectives discussed the danger of possessing fentanyl, which is easily absorbed through the skin or inhaled when airborne.
“Heroin and fentanyl are mixed and manufactured into a very fine powder, thereby, making the possibility of this powder to go airborne. This puts law enforcement at great risk if it were to be inhaled or ingested,” detectives alleged. “Fentanyl, even in amounts small enough to be viewed via microscope can be fatal.”
