Police: Putnam man arrested twice in 4 days on drug charges – News – The Bulletin

PUTNAM – A Putnam man was arrested a second time in less than a week after police said he was in possession of Fentanyl and crack cocaine Tuesday near Owen Tarr Park.

Police said they received reports Tuesday from residents regarding suspicious activity in the area of Tarr Park on Providence Street and its surrounding side streets.

Residents reported two men staggering down the road toward the area of the portable bathroom located in the parking lot of the park, police said.

According to police, the residents reporting the incident identified the man as Michael Hiller, who was driving a black Dodge Durango and selling narcotics in the area.

At 10:50 p.m., police said Putnam police and the Troop D Quality of Life Task Force saw the black Dodge Durango leaving the area of the park on Providence Street and driving south on School Street.

Police said they pulled the Durango over in the area of 162 School Street in the Special Services District of Putnam, after it crossed over the fog line and into the shoulder of the road.

During the stop, police said they identified the driver as Hiller, 34, of 54 Fitt Road, and said he was in possession of three grams of crack cocaine and 13 bags of Fentanyl.

Quality of Life Task Force police dog Ambrie was used during the stop to sniff the interior of Hiller’s SUV, revealing additional crack cocaine.

At 11 p.m., police said Hiller was arrested and charged with two counts of possession of narcotics and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Hiller was arrested Saturday in the Special Services District of Putnam, after police said he was found unconscious in a vehicle in violation of a protective order and with 124 bags of Fentanyl. He was subsequently charged with possession of Fentanyl in the incident.

He was issued and secured a $2,500 bond in connection to Tuesday’s arrest and is scheduled to appear in Danielson Superior Court on March 27.
