Portage County Grand Jury – News – Record-Courier

The following people were recently indicted by a Portage County grand jury. Indictments are only charges and not evidence of guilt:

• Dennis E. West, 52, of 1220 Kanawha Terrace, No. 4, of Huntington, West Virginia; grand theft, a fourth-degree felony, after an incident on Oct. 12, 2005. He allegedly stole a 2006 Ford F-250 from Jenior Ford Sales, Inc.

• Timothy L. Heltzel, 33, of 33 W. Church St., No. 8, Newton Falls; kidnapping, a first-degree felony, aggravated burglary, a first-degree felony, robbery, a second-degree felony, disrupting public service, a fourth-degree felony. Heltzel was accused of breaking into a Streetsboro woman’s house, assaulting her and holding her against her will on April 25.

• Nathan M. Carocci, 27, of 3022 Route 59, Ravenna Township; domestic violence, a fourth-degree felony, after an incident on April 24.

• Freddie G. Rutherford, 36, of 7195 Smalley Road, Freedom Township; trafficking in heroin, a fourth-degree felony, and possession of heroin, a fourth-degree felony, after an incident on April 24.

• Bradley J. DeWitt, 29, of 7403 Hutton Road, Smithville; illegal conveyance of items into a detention facility, a third-degree felony, and aggravated possession of drugs, a fifth-degree felony, after an incident on April 25.

• Cathy A. Nibling, 55, of 9970 Aurora-Hudson Road, Hudson; grand theft, a third-degree felony; theft from a person in a protected class, a fourth-degree felony. She is accused of taking a Smith & Wesson Bodyguard 380 handgun on June 13, 2018, according to court records.

• Micheal D. Maronski, 23, of 897 Parker Road, Aurora; two counts of aggravated possession of drugs, a fifth-degree felony; possession of drug abuse instruments, a second-degree misdemeanor. Maronski allegedly had fentanyl and carfentanil on March 29.

• Justin E. Hartung, 26, of 883 W. Spruce Ave., Ravenna; aggravated possession of drugs, a fifth-degree felony, and possession of drug abuse instruments, a second-degree misdemeanor. On April 24, he was accused of having methamphetamine.

• Cody L. Miller, 36, of 4759 Gerland Circle, Rootstown; with illegal conveyance of items, a third-degree felony, aggravated possession of drugs, specifically methamphetamine, a fifth-degree felony, and possession of drug abuse instruments, a second-degree misdemeanor, after an incident in Kent on April 26.

• Ralph E. Harper II, 37, of 6949 Giddings Road, Edinburg; aggravated possession of drugs, specifically methamphetamine, a fifth-degree felony, after an incident on April 26.
