Salisbury man sentenced to 12 years on drug charges

BALTIMORE, Md. – A Salisbury man was sentenced to 12 years in federal prison followed by three years supervised release for charges relating to a multi-state fentanyl distribution operation.

Back in late fall 2017, officials began an investigation into a drug trafficking organization that was operating on the Eastern Shore of Maryland, as well as Baltimore. Investigation revealed that 38-year-old Narada Walls was importing and selling a large amount of opiods, later identified as methoxyacetyl fentanyl, on a daily basis.

The DEA verified that the specific strand of fentanyl was one of the most potent strands being illegally imported from outside of the United States at the time, possibly as high as 15 times stronger than other analog strands. Multiple sources throughout Maryland and neighboring states were supplying Walls with the fentanyl that he distributed.

The investigation concluded on December 15, 2017, with the execution of five search and seizure warrants in Salisbury and throughout Wicomico County.

Officials recovered approximately 419 grams of methoxyacetyl fentanyl and several thousand dollars in drug money. Other drug-related paraphernalia was recovered from Walls’ bedroom as well.

The judge also ordered that Walls forfeit anything of value seized during the investigation, including $29,650 in cash.
