Sheriff’s investigators, police arrest – The Buffalo News

A Buffalo man was charged with several felony drug counts Thursday following a month-long investigation, authorities said.

Robert Scott, 34, was arrested at about 12:30 p.m. in the vicinity of Genesee Street and Goodyear Avenue, the Erie County Sheriff’s Office said. Police reported they found fentanyl and cocaine on his person and fentanyl in his vehicle.

Members of the Erie County Sheriff’s and Buffalo Police Department’s Narcotics Units, along with the Homeland Security Investigations’ Border Enforcement Security Task Force, also known as BEST, were involved in the operation.

Investigators said they received an anonymous tip that Scott would be in the area and in possession of fentanyl, the Sheriff’s Office said.

Scott, who was being held in the Erie County Holding Center pending arraignment, was previously placed in a court diversion program after pleading guilty to drug possession in December, deputies said.
