South Point man sentenced to prison for vehicle theft | News

IRONTON – A South Point, Ohio, man was sentenced to 17 months in prison last week in Lawrence County Common Pleas Court for theft of a motor vehicle.

Ryan J. McCloud, 31, of Private Drive 550, South Point, also was ordered by Judge Andy Ballard to pay $3,300 in restitution. He could be released to the STAR Community Justice Center for up to a six-month program after serving six months in prison.

In an unrelated case, Joseph Gardner, 31, of Hamilton Avenue, Westwood, Kentucky, pleaded guilty to possession of cocaine, possession of meth and failure to comply with the order or signal of a police officer. He faces a three-year prison sentence. Final sentencing in the case was set for Dec. 27.

– James D. Cade, 40, of the 1100 block of South 4th Street, Ironton, pleaded guilty to aggravated possession of drugs (meth) and possession of cocaine. He faces a maximum four-year prison sentence. Final sentencing was set for Dec. 27.

– Jason E. Yates, 41, of Englewood, Colorado, pleaded guilty to possession of nine grams of meth and was sentenced to a year in prison.

– Curtis Ratcliff, 43, of Township Road 1019, South Point, was sentenced to six months in prison for possession of controlled substances.

– Randall A. Eplion, 54, of Private Drive 501, Chesapeake, admitted violating community control sanctions and was sentenced to five months in the county jail.

– Chancie R. Berry, 24, of Private Drive 2404, Kitts Hill, admitted violating community control sanctions by failing to report, having a positive drug screen and failing to do 400 hours of community service. He was sentenced to four months in the county jail.

– Shawn Hanshaw, 30, of County Road 30, Kitts Hill, pleaded guilty to tampering with evidence, escape, resisting arrest and possession of drug abuse instruments. He was placed on community control sanctions for four years. He also was ordered to complete a therapy program at Mended Reeds and pay court costs.

– Joshua R. Barnett, 26, of the 1200 block of South 8th Street, Ironton, pleaded guilty to five counts of trafficking in drugs including meth, fentanyl and heroin. He was placed on community control sanctions for four years, ordered to complete the program at STAR and do 200 hours of community service.

– Justin R. Blackburn, 28, of County Road 42, Proctorville, admitted violating community control sanctions. He was ordered to complete the program at STAR and do 200 hours of community service.

– Damion Fox, 33, of Township Road 1019, South Point, pleaded guilty to theft and domestic violence. Final sentencing was set for Dec. 27.

– Jerry L. Mays, 50, of County Road 1, South Point, pleaded guilty to tampering with evidence and possession of heroin. He was placed on community control sanctions for four years and was ordered to complete the program at STAR and do 200 hours of community service.

– Chase L. Lewis, 33, of Township Road 1339, South Point, pleaded innocent to aggravated trafficking in drugs including cocaine and heroin. Bond was set at $10,000.

– Richard Sharp, 55, of the 1000 block of North 3rd Street, Ironton, pleaded innocent to felony driving under the influence, having weapons while under disability, possession of meth and improper handling of a firearm in a motor vehicle. Bond was set at $9,000.

– Robert N. Jones, 30, of Township Road 1408S, South Point, pleaded innocent to three counts of aggravated trafficking in drugs (fentanyl). Bond was set at $5,000.

– Travis Gibson, 46, of the 1500 block of South 11th Street, Ironton, pleaded innocent to possession of meth. Bond was set at $2,000.

– A drug charge against Cameron L. Jones, 24, of Township Road 276N, South Point, was dismissed.
