06 Feb State Police Arrest Four Brothers, Seize $300k In Fentanyl Bust
PROVIDENCE, R.I. — Rhode Island State Police Troopers arrested four brothers Tuesday and seized 90 grams of grams of fentanyl, a handgun, ammunition, and nearly $300,000 in cash. the bust was completed by the RISP’s High Intensity Drug Trafficking Area (HIDTA) Task Force.
The four brothers, Luis Miguel Molina, 23, Luis Armando Molina, 21, Luis Enrique Molina, 28 and Luis Alberto Molina, 29, are believed to be part of an alleged criminal narcotics conspiracy.
According to the RISP, each of the suspects faces the following charges:
- Manufacture/Delivery/Possession with the Intent to Manufacture or Deliver a Schedule II Controlled Substance (Fentanyl)
- Manufacture/Delivery/Possession with the Intent to Manufacture or Deliver one ounce to one kilogram Schedule II (Fentanyl)
- Possession of a Firearm While Committing a Controlled Substance Violation
- Possession of a Firearm By a Convicted Felon
- Controlled Substance Conspiracy
Both Luis Miguel Molina and Luis Alberto Molina were additionally charged with violating the terms of their probation relating to a previous robbery conviction. Luis Enrique Molina also violated probation from a previous breaking and entering conviction, as well as carrying a pistol without a license.
During the investigation, officers uncovered the 90 grams of fentanyl, a .380 caliber handgun, six rounds of ammunition for the handgun, various materials for packaging narcotics, and $282,061 in cash.
The four suspects were arraigned Tuesday in Sixth Division District Court and are currently being held without bail until their next court appearance.
