18 Jun Stoughton Man Accused Of Trafficking 108 Grams Of Fentanyl
STOUGHTON, MA — A Stoughton man was arrested Saturday after officers seized over 100 grams of fentanyl and two illegally owned guns. Brian Rodrigues was charged with two counts of possessing an unlawful firearm, possession of a firearm with an obliterated serial number, trafficking in fentanyl and other ammunition related offenses.
Stoughton police said they were already conducting a lengthy drug investigation into Rodrigues. Stoughton, Randolph, and Norwood detectives searched his Sharon Street home and said they seized 108 grams of fentanyl, a 9-millimeter handgun, nine rounds of ammunition, a double-edged sword, and paraphernalia related to drug sales. The search warrant came after Rodrigues’s arrest at a traffic stop.
On Saturday evening, Stoughton police pulled over a white Volkswagen in the area of Cobb Corner. Police said the car’s registered owner, Rashaun Lewis, had a warrant for his arrest.
The two passengers, Rodrigues and David Dessources, were unable to drive because they admitted to smoking marijuana, police said. Before the car could be towed, officers had to search the vehicle. Police said they found a loaded gun inside the car, and none of the three men held a license to carry. All three men were arrested and held on bail until their arraignments Monday morning. Lewis and Dessources were both charged with carrying a firearm without a license, possession of a large capacity firearm, and possession of ammunition.
