26 May Stratford man in custody for manslaughter after Fentanyl overdose
A 54-year old Stratford man is being held in custody for manslaughter and trafficking charges.
The arrest happened on Friday and stems from a December investigation into the death of a 48-year old Stratford man who overdosed on fentanyl.
Stratford Police say they have information that the suspect gave the deceased man and a 33-year old woman a drug, known on the street as “Down”.
Both the man and woman were unconscious after taking the drug. The woman was revived after being given Naloxone, but the man died.
After discussion with the Crown Attorney’s office Stratford Police Service has charged 54-year old.
Terry Collins was arrested on Friday and was held in custody for a bail hearing today (Saturday) but has been scheduled to return to court on Monday and remains in custody.
Stratford Police remind the public of the dangers of using illegal substances like Fentanyl.
