09 May Suspect rips open bag of fentanyl, spreads drugs in police booking area, officials say
A Methuen man is charged in a move that landed a police officer in the hospital. Police said Kyle Dennis ripped open a bag of fentanyl powder — spreading it all over the Methuen police booking area and Methuen police Officer Patrick Waldron. The scare also forced police to shut down the building’s cellblock and divert suspects to other departments. Dennis and Waldron were taken the hospital as a precaution. Dennis was wanted on warrants in Massachusetts and New Hampshire. The state requested and received a continuance in connection with Wednesday’s incident. He will return to court Monday to face charges, including drug possession and assault and battery. His bail from a previous case was revoked.
