The Day – Norwich police arrest two people, seize fentanyl and cocaine

Norwich — City police say two people have been arrested and several drugs seized in connection with a recent overdose investigation.

An overdose prompted Officer Nathan O’Keefe and the department’s Narcotics Division to obtain a search warrant for 13 Carlson St. on Thursday evening, according to a news release.

There, police said they found and seized more than 100 bags of fentanyl, a powerful opioid; 38.9 grams of cocaine; Suboxone strips and various other prescription medications; hallucinogenic mushrooms, and drug paraphernalia. Police also seized about $28,000 in cash, which they said was determined to be direct proceeds of narcotics sales, as well as a car.

Joseph Salimeno, 28, who police said lives at the Carlson Street residence, is charged with operating a drug factory and interfering with police, in addition to nine other drug-related charges. He was being held on a $250,000 bond.

Julie Kozlowski, 30, of 8 Reynolds St., Norwich, faces four drug counts and additionally is charged with interfering with a police officer. She was released on a $10,000 nonsurety bond.

Both are due in court April 18.
