08 Feb Tulsa woman signs for $2 million worth of fentanyl in package delivery drug bust, Sheriff’s Office says | Crime & Courts
State and county narcotics investigators arrested a woman after she allegedly received a shipment of fentanyl, a potent opioid with doses often measured in nanograms or micrograms.
Nabrai Lyntrel Lyons, 24, of Tulsa, allegedly received a package shipped from Mexico on Thursday morning at her residence in the 4800 block of North Iroquois Avenue, according to a probable cause affidavit.
Authorities intercepted the package, addressed to a pseudonym, and posed as a delivery driver to complete the delivery. Lyons allegedly signed for the package under the pseudonym. State narcotics agents served a search warrant at her residence after she allegedly signed for the package, which contained 22 grams of fentanyl.
Tulsa County Sheriff’s deputies and agents from the Oklahoma Bureau of Narcotics seized various items reportedly used to prepare heroin for sale, a clear bag containing a tan powder, baggies, a vacuum sealer and a 9mm handgun, according to the affidavit.
Lyons denied knowledge of the drug-related materials allegedly located in her residence and denied having knowledge of the contents of the package, according to the affidavit.
She was booked into Tulsa County jail on complaints of conspiracy to commit a felony and possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony. She is being held in lieu of a $30,000 bond.
Fentanyl is often used as filler in drugs such as heroin and oxycodone. Fentanyl is 80 to 100 times more potent than morphine and up to hundreds of times more potent than heroin. According to streetrx.com and other online drug-price resources, the street value of 22 grams of fentanyl could be more than $2 million.
