Two Mexican nationals have been indicted in a $3 million drug bust at a Hasbrouck Heights hotel in November.

Romulo Chaidez Medrano and Arcenio Chaidez Medrano, who are brothers, were part of a surveillance sting at the Hilton Hotel on Terrance Avenue, where police allegedly uncovered the drug stash in their possession. In all, authorities said they seized 13 kilograms of crystal methamphetamine, 3½ kilograms of heroin, 6,250 tabs of fentanyl and 3 pounds of raw fentanyl, a potent synthetic opioid.

A grand jury on Jan. 30 returned a 14-count indictment against the pair that includes first, second and third-degree charges related to the possession and intent to distribute the drugs.

The Medranos hail from Sinaloa, Mexico and allegedly arrived in Bergen County to distribute the supply, authorities had said. During their arrest, police found three fake driver licenses – from New York, California and Ohio, according to court documents.

A surveillance team with the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office observed the two distributing the drugs to an unnamed individual at the Hilton Hotel, documents show.

Both men are due in Superior Court in Hackensack on Feb. 19 for a post-indictment arraignment.
