03 Feb Uncle ‘raped niece, 11, as she died of Fentanyl overdose’
A man has been accused of drugging his great-niece with Fentanyl before raping her as she died.
Precious Wallaces, 11, was found struggling to breath in Miguel Rivera’s home after she and her brother were allegedly given a ‘little red pill’ before they went to bed on December 15.
She was rushed to hospital where doctors reportedly found she had Fentanyl – a painkiller 100 times stronger than morphine – in her system, and she died two days later.
Rivera, 58, her great-uncle, was arrested on January 18 and has since been charged with her rape and death.
An autopsy also found Precious had been sexually assaulted on the night she took the drug, and Rivera’s DNA was found in her body, according to reports.

Precious had been staying at his home in Lawrence, Massachusetts, as she did every weekend, CBS reports.
Rivera told investigators he flushed the pills down the toilet while she was having a medical issue.
He claims he did not give her the drug, but feared she may have taken one on her own.
He has also denied raping Precious.
On Tuesday, Rivera was beaten by another inmate in the Essex County Jail where he is currently being held.
Rivera suffered bumps, bruises and a small cut and was treated by doctors.
He has since been placed in protective custody, and will be held in a solitary cell without interaction with other inmates.
